As the seasons have been (slowly, here in Atlanta) turning to Fall, our family has settled into a new Sunday morning rhythm. What started as a simple way to make one morning more special has turned into a tradition we all look forward to: Cinnamon Roll Sundays.

It began one Sunday when I wanted to make something for the kids for breakfast that they would really enjoy — something that felt like a treat — in the hopes that we could slow down, all sit at the table together, and mark the day with something different from weekday mornings. A pan of warm gooey cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven was just the ticket. They’re simple and memorable (they also just so happen to be one of my favorite breakfast foods). It only took one Cinnamon Roll Sunday for our kids to start asking every Sunday morning, “Are we having cinnamon rolls today?!” And a tradition was born.

Now, Sunday mornings mean slowing down, pouring coffee, and lingering a little longer around the table together. No matter if the rolls are homemade, from a favorite local bakery, or the easy frozen kind you pop in straight in the oven, the joy is the same.

This small tradition reinforces my belief that home isn’t just about the walls and furniture. It’s about the rituals and rhythms we create within it. A well-designed home makes space for moments like these, for gathering, comfort, and memories that last long after the dishes are done. That’s why it’s so important to me that we design homes for you that facilitate your lifestyle and inspire you to live well.

Cinnamon Roll Recipes and Local Bakeries

If you want to create your own Cinnamon Roll tradition in your family and are in the market for a cinnamon roll recipe, check out The Salted Sweets’ recipe here (she even has a pumpkin cinnamon roll recipe for you seasonal pumpkin fans!).

Here in Atlanta, there are so many world-class bakeries and each offers their own take on these sweet buns. Some of my favorites for cinnamon rolls are TGM Bread, Little Tart Bake Shop, and Henri’s Bakery. If you have a favorite Atlanta-made cinnamon roll or start your own tradition, let us know, we’d love to hear about it!
