I started my design firm because I was you
I’m Elyse Kennedy Yang, founder of Elyse Living Interiors. And I started this firm because I was you. My husband, a finance professional, and I, a “big law” associate at an international law firm, built our first home together with a toddler at home and a baby on the way in the middle of the pandemic, while living in a too-small apartment. We made a lot of sacrifices, mostly of our sleep and sanity, and, if I’m honest, quality time with our family, through that process as I designed our home with our new life in it in mind.
Since then, I’ve helped numerous families renovate their homes without having to make the same sacrifices during the design phase of their projects that we did.
The resounding feedback I’ve received from them is how valuable it was to have not had to spend their precious time, energy and decision making capacity sifting through the depths of available finishes and furnishings and trying to make everything work together. But rather, to have someone provide them with a design for their home that met their lifestyle needs and that they had confidence was a good investment in their home as it would stand the test of time.

Which is also why I design classic spaces. I have an affinity for a broad range of design styles. And I believe that, among other things, it’s the mix of styles you incorporate into your spaces that make your home feel like you. But no matter the style I’m working with, I make selections with longevity in mind so as to provide you with a design for your space that both feels like you and will stand the test of time.

Finally, I started Elyse Living Interiors to help you live the full, beautiful life you envision for yourself. We all have a lifestyle we aspire to. Whether it’s more time spent baking with our kids, less time spent organizing our stuff and more time spent outdoors together, or being able to entertain our friends in our home more comfortably, (or something else altogether!) our homes to a great extent can help us achieve those goals. A beautiful home inspires us to be better and live better. And a functional home helps us do it. Which is why both are non-negotiable elements of my designs.
